Rice Pudding

I make this for my father-in-law, not as often as I should, but at least every year for his birthday.

Rice Pudding
Bring to boil in a medium saucepan:
1 C. water
1 T. butter
4 C. milk

Reduce heat and add:
1 cinnamon stick
1 C. uncooked rice
Simmer slowly about 35-40 minutes.

Add:
1 C. sugar
Stir occasionally until the sugar is dissolved, about 5 minutes.

Gently stir in:
1 C. half and half
1 T. butter
1 t. salt
Mix well.
